Among Whirlwinds
- Compositions by women for voices
Almost all concerts nowadays present programmes with many more compositions written by men, female composers are still being ignored. Our upcoming CD AMONG WHIRLWINDS contains all music by female composers. With this project and its outstanding compositions we would like to contribute to change the gender inequality in concert programmes.

4th SINGER PUR TAGE 2022
The 4th Singer Pur Tage will take place from 5th to 7th of August 2022. Singer Pur, Ensemble Leones and a Renaissance brass ensemble will perform three concerts with music by Ludwig Senfl (ca. 1490-1543). We will also premiere new compositions by this year composer in residence, our longtime friend and Grammy Award winner Gavin Bryars. On Saturday, August 6th, you will have the chance to enjoy a wonderful musicological team of presenters at our Academy. For further information follow our link in German.

Lou Koster (1889-1973): The Violinist of Echternach - musical setting of poems by Nicolas Welter.
This wonderful music by the Luxembourgish musician Lou Koster based on the medieval story of “the tall Veit” was only a draft. Our Christian has drawn up an own setting for Singer Pur with piano, violin, solo voices and vocal ensemble in consonance with the manuscript.
This special jewel was recorded in May 2021 and is now available in stores and on our webshop.
HORIZONS - SINGER PUR-CD RELEASE
How we perceive “spirit” is both different and similar for each person and each culture. “Spirit” cannot be taken captive, trapped into dogma or institutionalized: it blows wherever it will. The spirit we perceive, emanating from completely different cultures, often moves us without us understanding the language or knowing much about the civilization that lies behind it. Spirit connects far beyond cultural and religious boundaries. That is why here we seek to link the spirit from different world religions, regions and cultures. Music and texts from different Christian traditions, from Asia, Africa and the Jewish and Arabic cultures are harmoniously juxtaposed.
Since it was founded in 1991, Singer Pur has had the privilege of travelling to almost 60 countries, always finding novelties as well as connections. It is thus with great joy that we pour music from the many different cultures we have had the privilege to get to know into the borderless spirit’s horn of plenty. May the spirit-filled music inspire and move you and waft you through the exotic and the familiar.
